8th August 2013
It has been a pleasure to be involved with organising the first community-led Wood Street Market event on Sunday 21st July in conjunction with Wood Street based Architecture 1B who came up with the idea.
There were around 40 unique small local businesses of which 20 have physical outlets in this area and along with the involvement of performers, musicians, pop-up shop activity and the arts group Ossett Observer it was a super community day for the City Centre.
This is a great way to get together to enjoy good things on our doorstep and the market’s social pages have been buzzing with lots of positive comments about the market day – offering something totally different in a historic part of the City.
Don’t miss the next one! Sunday 18th August 10am-4pm.
Tasty fresh food, stalls selling art, crafts, vintage and unique items. Pop-up interactive community space, exhibitions. Live music and magic!
